Call for Papers: HICSS Conference 2018
April 7th, 2017

Call for Papers:

Social Media and Healthcare Technology

at the

Hawaii International

Conference on System Sciences

HICSS-51: January 3-6, 2018

Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hawai

HICSS is an international conference (50% of attendees are from outside the US) representing a broad array of systems sciences. HICSS is the #1 IS conference in terms of Google Scholar citations and has opportunities to fast track HICSS papers for journal publications

Why submit work to HICSS? Until recently, health-related topics have not had a large presence at HICSS. However, with the growing importance of technology in the delivery of healthcare, a “Information Technology and Healthcare” track was added. There is growing awareness that it is important to have the voices of medicine and behavioral medicine represented.

What is a “mini-track”? HICSS presentations cover 10 broad topic areas, each of which has more specific topic mini-tracks. The Social Media and Healthcare Technology mini-track falls within the “Information Technology in Healthcare” track http://hicss.hawaii.edu/tracks-51/information-technology-in-healthcare/.  Each 90 minute paper session will consist of 3-4 paper presentations (20-25 minutes each) leaving time for positive, collegial discussion and questions.

How do I submit? Conference submissions are not abstracts. They are fully developed manuscripts.  Each paper is peer reviewed. Authors of accepted papers have the opportunity to respond to reviews and edit their papers before publication in the conference journal and final publication as a peer-reviewed paper.

Paper submission details: Contact the mini-track co-chairs Beth Bock (BBock@Lifespan.org) and  RRosen@Lifespan.org for information about the track and paper development. Or check the HICSS website at http://hicss.hawaii.edu/tracks-and-minitracks/authors/

Key Dates: Paper submission begins April 1 at 12 PM HST and ends June 15 2017 11:50 HST
